State Senator Jean Breaux of Indianapolis spoke out today to oppose legislation that would cut services for elderly Hoosiers. The measure, Senate Bill 35, eliminates the state’s Alzheimer’s disease and related senile dementia program. The bill also lessens the required times that the Community and Home Options Institutional Care for the Elderly and Disabled (CHOICE) board meets to address the state’s problems of the aging and aged.
Sen. Breaux says that she is concerned that the state budget is being balanced on the backs of those who can least afford it.
