The state announced Wednesday morning that Indiana’s preliminary seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate for January 2010 did not change from the revised December 2009 rate of 9.7%. Indiana’s rate matched the national rate of 9.7%.
According to the Indiana Dept. of Workforce Development (DWD) press release:
Seasonally-adjusted total non-farm employment in Indiana declined by 2,000 in January. Sectors reporting significant employment increases include: Manufacturing (3,900), Financial Activities (600) and Professional and Business Services (600). Sectors reporting significant employment declines include: Private Education and Health Services (-5,700), Leisure and Hospitality (-2,600) and Construction (-2,200).
