State Senator John Broden of South Bend hosted a group of 8th grade students from South Bend’s Edison Intermediate School on Wednesday.
Over 50 students traveled to the Indiana Statehouse. Students received a full tour of the Capitol from the Statehouse Tour Office and IUSB student and legislative intern Joel Bazzell. Students were also able to meet for Q&A with Gov. Mitch Daniels in his office, Supreme Court Justice Frank Sullivan in the Indiana Supreme Court and Representative Charlie Brown in the House of Representatives.
Sen. Broden stayed with students for most of the tour, finishing up in the Senate Chamber where Sen. Broden and students discussed just what it takes to be a state senator in Indiana and answered questions.
