The State Senate wrapped up work Friday afternoon with high expectations for next week’s finale. Senate Democrat Leader Vi Simpson held a media availability after Friday’s adjournment to discuss the final negotiations taking place in the Indiana General Assembly. Sen. Simpson says Senate Democrats will continue to push forward with negotiations on issues surrounding education funding and unemployment insurance to meet the March 14 deadline.

A number of bills have passed both chambers without amendments, or with amendments that have been agreed upon, and now proceed to the governor for final consideration. The Senate will reconvene on Monday, March 8 at 1:30 PM and the House of Representatives have adjourned until Wednesday, March 10 at 1:30 PM.
